We’re absolutely delighted to announce that from now on, you'll be able to enjoy the award‑winning breads of Lovingly Artisan Bakery right here at Sally’s in Garstang. This celebrated Kendal bakery—run by Aidan Monks and Catherine Connor—is a true artisan sourdough specialist using organic, stone‑ground, heritage‑grain British flours and traditional long fermentation techniques.

Lovingly Artisan has earned a remarkable array of honours, including being named Britain’s Best Artisan Bakery in the 2023 Bakers’ Dozen list. In 2024, they swept the Farm Shop & Deli Awards, taking home Retailer of the Year, Baker of the Year, and North England Regional Winner. That same year, they were also named Food & Drink Producer of the Year in the North West Family Business Awards.

They’re committed not just to quality but to sustainable baking—baking in a wood‑chip oven powered by local renewable energy, dramatically reducing their carbon footprint, and even operating a mobile “bread truck” to bring their goods straight to communities. Lovingly Artisan also works with local social initiatives in Kendal, donating loaves to community food shares and Lunch Bunch programmes to support families in need.

How you can get your hands on it…

At Sally’s, Lovingly Artisan loaves will be available exclusively on Fridays and Saturdays. Every Friday morning from 9 am, we’ll have a fresh delivery of their finest sourdoughs, ryes, focaccia, and more.

Payment will be taken upon collection, and all allergen information for each loaf will be clearly provided.
